This introduction sets out the circumstances that gave rise to the collection of essays presented in this special issue of the «Rivista di Filosofia Neo-Scolastica». Furthermore, the theoretical lines and methodological assumptions lying at the bottom of the whole project are outlined, in order to make the intertwining of the diverse perspectives at stake more evident.
