This paper presents the debate on truth between Neoidealism and Neoempiricism in Britain, with particular attention to Joachim and Ramsey. This debate allows to recognize some original positions within those philosophical traditions and their relevance with respect to the evelopments of the contemporary philosophy down to us. On one side, Joachim’s neoidealistic criticism to the rising neoempiricism of Russell essentially represents an interesting preview of the holistic concept of knowledge, that post-positivistic epistemology – mainly American Neopragmatism – would have opposed to the dogmas of logical empiricism; on the other, although Ramsey made a severe criticism to Joachim’s theory of truth from an neoempiricist point of view, he agreed with his holistic conception – rather than with Russell’s logical atomism – by considering the theory of truth within an «analysis of judgment». In this way, it will finally stand out a still actual theoretical compatibility between epistemological holism and ontological realism through a pragmatist philosophical approach.
